Desert Grassland Restoration Crew at Work: June 2014
This blog was established to promote the use of sound science in our wildlife and habitat management practices. We devote a lot of time to talking about the role of cattle delivering the animal impact which grasslands require. In fact, most of our animal impact comes from the wild animals in these pictures. Each has a slightly different diet, although all these diets overlap. Each grazes or browses differently choosing different plants and different places to look for those. All move constantly – unlike cattle – and some like elk are perpetual motion machines! Biodiversity is good not bad: It takes a community of animals.
I like to think of the Circle Ranch as a 50-section garden project: these are our gardeners!
Every month we review 5,000 game camera photos. Here is what we collected in June 2014.
