Additional Proof Elk Are Native to Texas
Here in this post (below) is a paper on an elk bone found in a Texas riverbank in 1993.
This evidence is part of a mass of evidence uncovered since the V. Bailey conclusion of 1905, where the Department’s conclusion on this matter rests.
Below is another paper about an elk bone found in a Texas indian midden 100 years after V. Bailey’s conclusion in 1905. Just one more piece of evidence ignored by the wildlife experts who declare that there were never any elk in Texas outside of the Guadalupe Mountains. This is the justification for Department elk eradications, and Park Service elk removals.
Are elk native to Texas Comment
These are good points. I wonder have you looked at peer reviewed paper (click here) that we wrote on this topic? Your remarks reminded me that I should repost it, which I did on, July 25, my brother Dick’s birthday. Dick was the principal author of the paper.
Thanks for helping Texas’s elk.
