Why Cows That Learn to Eat One Weed Will Choose to Eat Others

As discussed below, the idea that “weeds” – also known as forbs – are not good for cattle is incorrect. Cattle living on open range learn to eat these – and often prefer them to grass. Herds instinctively select foods based on nutrition. This is nature’s way of insuring they have a balanced diet.
